Maternity Series & Marlee

Heather contacted us a while back about an idea she had to document her pregnancy. We were stoked about it of course, and we started shooting pretty early on. The following is the result:

We also took a few more photos of Heather while we were at it.

And onto who was in there: Meet Marlee, she’s seriously cute and boy, is she loved by her big sister, Kensley! I have a feeling these two are going to be super close.

Heather, thank you for asking us to work with you throughout your pregnancy, and Congratulations! It was really great working with you, and Marlee is just terrific.

Danielle & Andy

Hi all,

Here are a few photos from a maternity session we shot with Danielle & Andy. They are expecting their first child any day now.:)

Also, baking happens to be a passion they both share, and we thought it’d be nice if they shared it with us.:)

These cookies were wicked, by the way.

Danielle has a blog, Sweet Treast by Dani. You can find a bunch of excellent recipes on there. Take a look, it’s a good read and this woman knows her baking. She’s taken a little time off with the pregnancy, however, we just noticed there’s a recipe for a Cocoa Bliss Chocolate Cake… put on two pounds just reading about it.:)

Congrats, Danielle & Andy. It was great meeting you. Cute puppy too!

All the best.

Isabella At 6 Months.

Our little girl, Isabella, is 6 months old! Already!  6 months! Where does the time go?

To date, Isabella has three (almost four) teeth, she’s sitting up on her own, she won’t stop rolling over, loves the bath and music and sweet potatoes. When we’re playing, she doesn’t pretend walk any more, now she hops. Constantly. She’s trying really hard to crawl, but she mostly goes backwards. However, she has started doing the “worm” a little, and that’s working out a bit better. She loves when our dog, Dexter, licks her face – you know this because the grimace she has when being licked, is always followed by a big smile, and sometimes a laugh. For fun, one of our friends has made up a couple categories that babies generally fall into: Isabella falls into the Kangaroo category.

Sometimes at 4 am, she wants her bum changed. Then she wants to have a conversation…. with you or any near-by object. It really doesn’t matter, she just likes to use her voice. As far as we can tell, she speaks three languages fluently. She’s currently learning English, but is stuck at “bababababababababa”, high-pitched squeals, and gurgles. Once, in two, quick, successive moments, she said “Ma” and then quickly said “Dad” in sign language. However, we decided not to count those as words because she might have actually said “Mu” and not “Ma”, and instead of signing “Dad”, she might only have scratched her head with her thumb. But sometimes you get caught up in those moments, and there isn’t much room left for clear thought.:)

Every day, we’re thankful we have Isabella in our lives. We even welcome the hard days, the ones that feel like they’re 48 or 72 hours long – because we know that’s part of the job, and we know that it’s all worth it.  After a particularly hard day or two, you might wake up and Isabella is smiling at you. Just staring and smiling, looking at you like nothing else in the world exists. Somehow, that’s enough to forget how tired you are. She’s given us so much already, at just six months!

But seriously, look at her! She’s too freakin’ cute! How could you not appreciate everyday with a little Kangaroo like this!?

Isabella Marie Caroline Haby, happy half-birthday! We love you so much. xoxo
